Hi, I'm Gokkul.
I build full-stack
systems that run in production.
Building real-time, full-stack systems for healthcare, HR, and payments. Currently shipping attendance, payroll, and notification modules at PayOrc — with real-time infra, async job pipelines, and multi-gateway payments as my daily tools.

01. About
A bit about me
Software Development Engineer with production experience building full-stack systems across healthcare, HRMS, event ticketing, and task management. Proficient in Node.js, React.js, Next.js, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, and Socket.IO — skilled in REST APIs, real-time systems, async job pipelines, and multi-gateway payments. Confirmed Associate SDE at PayOrc post-internship; experienced in Agile/Scrum workflows.

02. Experience
Where I've worked
Associate Software Development Engineer · PayOrc
Oct 2025 – Present · Full-Time
- Confirmed as Associate SDE after internship — owning attendance, payroll, and notification modules in production.
- Extending backend features and maintaining stability across Agile sprints (DSM, DTM, Sprint Planning).
Backend Developer Intern · PayOrc
Apr 2025 – Oct 2025 · Internship
- Built modular HRMS backend for attendance tracking using Node.js, Express.js and MySQL with JWT + AES-256 auth.
- Designed a two-stage async payroll engine (BullMQ + Redis) with configurable concurrency, retry/backoff, and a Bull Board dashboard.
- Built a real-time Socket.IO notification system with JWT handshake and room-scoped delivery backed by MySQL.
- Automated PDF payslip generation via Puppeteer; Excel payroll exports via ExcelJS; 20+ transactional emails via Nodemailer.
Right now
Extending PayOrc's payroll & notification systems in production.
Day to day that means owning attendance, payroll, and notification modules at PayOrc through Agile sprints. Between sprints, I'm going deeper on async job orchestration, system design, and the kind of reliability/observability work that doesn't show up as a single project bullet point.
03. Projects
Things I've built
A mix of freelance and team-built products spanning healthcare, HR, project management, and live ticketing. Previews below are UI concepts I built to represent each product's interface — not live screenshots.
Healthcare Platform
Telemedicine & Doctor Booking
Problem — Home healthcare needed one place for patients to book, video-consult, and pay a doctor — instead of three disconnected tools.
Result — A single platform where a patient books, video-calls, and pays a doctor, and the doctor manages appointments, wallet payouts, and reporting end to end.
- Built a full-stack telemedicine platform with 90+ REST APIs, real-time doctor-patient chat (Socket.IO + Firebase FCM), and Agora video calling.
- Multi-gateway payments (Razorpay, Stripe, FlutterWave) with subscription plans, doctor wallets, and withdrawal workflows.
- Modeled a 59-collection MongoDB schema; built a Next.js 14 admin panel (TypeScript, Redux Toolkit, ApexCharts, AWS S3).
HRDesk
HR Management System
Problem — Manual attendance and payroll runs don't scale — geo-spoofed check-ins, missed payslips, and RBAC gaps are common failure points.
Result — Attendance is geo-verified against real coordinates, payroll runs asynchronously without blocking the API, and payslips/exports generate on schedule.
- Async payroll engine (BullMQ + Redis), geo-tagged attendance with OpenStreetMap reverse-geocoding, AES-256 JWT auth, and RBAC middleware.
- Real-time Socket.IO notifications, Puppeteer PDF payslips, and ExcelJS bulk import/export.
ORC Desk
Task Management Tool (Jira-style)
Problem — Small teams outgrow spreadsheets for sprint tracking fast, but often don't want full Jira complexity or its license cost.
Result — A lightweight, self-hosted Jira-style board with real issue hierarchy, an audit trail, and RBAC — without the enterprise price tag.
- Hierarchical issue model (Epic → Story → Task → Subtask) with audit trail, drag-and-drop Kanban, sprint planning, and RBAC-gated UI.
- OTP auth via an external HRMS API; auto-generated issue keys; versioned DB migrations.

Loqlee
Event Ticketing Platform
Problem — Event seat selection breaks under concurrency — without synced holds, two people can grab the same seat at once.
Result — Seat holds sync in real time with visible expiry countdowns, so a seat someone else is holding can't be double-booked mid-browse.
- Real-time, concurrency-aware seat selection with server-synced holds, expiry countdowns, and contiguous-block selection logic.
- 9 payment gateways (Razorpay, Stripe, PayPal, FlutterWave, and more), e-ticket PDF + QR generation, Firebase Firestore chat.

Hotel PMS
Cloud Hotel Property Management System
Problem — Small hotel chains need reservations, billing, and housekeeping in one system — without double-booking rooms or losing revenue to manual rate management.
Result — Front desk staff run the full guest lifecycle — book, OCR-scan an ID at check-in, bill, and check out — while owners see live occupancy and revenue reports.
- Multi-tenant reservations engine with an availability grid, date-overridable rate plans, and no-double-sell guarantees.
- OCR-assisted guest check-in (Tesseract.js ID scanning) and an interactive 3D property/room visualizer (React Three Fiber).
- Billing with sequential per-financial-year invoice numbering, Razorpay + UPI QR payments, and reconciliation/refund flows.
- Occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR reporting with automated night audit; RBAC-gated staff roles with shift-based session invalidation.
